Means something that threatens to cause problems or unhappiness in the future (for example: Even though we are on schedule, there are clouds on the horizon).

If someone will do something at the drop of a dime, they will do it instantly, without hesitation.
At all hours (of the night) -
Very late at night, throughout the night (for example: Her mom would call her at all hours of the night).
