De nalatenschap van Boudewijn ij n Büch(1948-2002) is in veel opzichten
opmerkelijk te noemen. Hij heeft niet alleen als literator, maar ook als
als verzamelaar een enorme collectie opgebouwd.

boeken, manuscripten, kaarten, zeefdrukken, beeldjes en andere parafernalia,

Niet lang voor zijn dood, met de tentoonstelling Een heel huis vol
die
van mei tot december 2001 in het Natuurmuseum Rotterdam te zien was, bezweek
Boudewijn Büch voor het eerst en voor het laatst voor de verleiding
een deel van zijn omvangrijke particuliere verzameling aan het publiek
te tonen.
Bij de tentoonstelling hoorde een gelijknamig boek waarin Büch
zijn collectie en keuze toelichtte en ons een blik gunde in de ziel van
iemand die de wereld vooral beschouwt als een magazijn vol mooie, interessante,
angstwekkende en kostbare voorwerpen. Dit boek, dat gaat over de zoete
vertwijfeling die het verzamelen met zich meebrengt, was exclusief in het
Natuurmuseum verkrijgbaar en is nu voor het eerst in de (internet)boekhandel
te koop.
